Sprucing Up Your Winter Wardrobe

We've all experienced the post-holiday, frigid despair, 'is it summer yet?' winter blues. When the cozy sweaters and hot cocoa excitement of November fades and you just don't feel like crawling out from under the covers to face the dim morning and bone-chilling winds.

Your attire can start to suffer from the mid-January melancholy and monochromatic tones nature takes on. This time of year, I like to add interest to my wintry looks by focusing on the details. I start pulling in pieces that can be transitioned into my spring wardrobe and warm them up with the essentials I've been wearing this season.

For both outfits, I took a staple black turtleneck  and spiced it up with fun accessories and layers. The first combo is a textured vintage coat, distressed denim, western-inspired belt, lots of rings (per usual) and a knit beanie paired with the silver oxfords that are having a moment in my closet.

In the second look, I took a feminine floral, maxi slip dress and threw it atop of the same black turtleneck pictured above, more rings of course, and my favorite fringe moto booties (ahem, ZARA hack - they're from the kids section...). I can't wait to wear this dress into the warmer months with a suede lace-up sandal and Lennon sunnies.

I hope it can free up your mind of all the decision making and mental to-do's to dream more, create more, and breathe more.
