3-Step Simple Balayage Hair Care Routine

Blogger applies hair mask to her balayage hair style

Every so often I get an itch to freshen my look by chopping my locks or adding a bit of color. When it comes to hair color, I absolutely love balayage for its non-fussy maintenance and the subtle definition it gives to your beachy waves. I recently updated my mane with a cool blonde balayage and have found a few tips and tricks to have ‘I just stepped out of the salon’ style everyday.

1. Wash

Color toning shampoo + conditioner

This purple formula keeps your color from turning brassy so it will stay true to the original shade.

2. Repair

Avocado hair mask

I use this mask about twice a week, since bleached hair can feel dry and brittle. Apply the mask after shampooing and allow it to absorb for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. Finish rinsing with cold water to seal hair strands and prevent frizz.

3. Style

Smoothing balm

Run fingers through your hair with a quarter-sized dollop of balm to protect from heat damage and create a soft, lush blowout! I normally add a few waves after blow drying with my favorite curling wand.
