Canadian Summer Travel Guide to Banff & Canmore
I still remember the first photo I saw of Banff, a foggy grey mountains contrasted with teal blue water. The stunning scenery and place immediately made itself onto my travel bucket list. This summer, my close friend and roommate from when I lived in Switzerland, was married in the prairies just south of Banff so my husband and I made a week-long trip out of it and headed to the mountains.
Banff enchanted me with winding trails through the forest that open up to breathtaking views over the lakes. Whether or not you are a hiking enthusiast or if you just have a small interest in it- you’ll love what Banff has to offer. Put Lake Louise on the top of your list if you are short on time. It is Banff’s must-see destination.. Hike up the trail and stop at the tea house at the very top, then follow the bridge to come down the other side. You’ll pass a stunning waterfall on your way, and maybe even see some wildlife (we saw mountain sheep + grizzlies!)
We also spent time in Canmore, a wonderful destination to round out our week-long adventure. I’ve listed some of my favorite places there as well!
