Easy Summer Style Swaps for Fall
I love fall for the smell of cinnamon + nutmeg coming out of corner coffee shops and cozy sweaters filling store racks. As summer comes to an end, I unpack the bin under my bed of warm pieces tucked away for the last five months. The in-between season is often the hardest when it comes to your wardrobe but there are a few simple tricks you can try out to keep some of your summer pieces and add fall-worthy touches. When it is cool in the morning and night, but still in the mid-seventies during the day, incorporate layers and creativity!
Add outerwear to your everyday summer look.
Plaid blazers are trending this season and look great on top of a white tee and jeans. The beloved blazer I’m wearing is from Bershka.
Choose footwear with closed-toes.
Swap out strappy sandals for suede pumps. I love a chunky heel and warm tones for fall.
Go for thick textures over lightweight linens and cotton.
You can still wear mini lengths while the weather hasn’t quite cooled down yet, just pick a heavyweight fabric like corduroy or warm knits. In a few months, keep the same look and add tights.
Exchange woven straw bags for sleek leather.
I’m obsessed with Fanny packs for fall. I tend to gravitate towards deeper shades of leather, like burgundy or classic black.
5. MIDI SKIRTS
Bring out the midis!
Midi skirts are having a moment this season. Dark florals and animal prints (especially cheetah) were all over the runways at A/W Fashion Week.
